Almost two weeks since the GASMASK TERROR Japan Tour finished. We needed this time to take some rest i guess. I don't know what to say. I won't do a tour diary or anything, but all i can say is that it was an awesome tour ! Everything went perfectly, all shows were great, all bands were totally mind blowing, we met so many friends old and new. This is probably the best tour i ever did.
We would like to give huge hugs and thank everyone in AKKA, Ikawa/FORGET ME NOT, Shin/PUNK AND DESTROY, Abe and Hishyo/CHEAP RESISTANCE, Masaaki/SYSTEMATIC DEATH, So/HARDCORE SURVIVES, Hiroshi/D-CLONE, everyone at the SYSTEM FUCKER HOUSE, Sin/ACROSTIX, Yu/SKIZOPHRENIA, and of course Dennis, Sash and Junpei !
We also would like to thank everyone who has been involved in this tour. People who cooked food for us, let us sleep in their houses, made flyers, took care of the sound for every shows, all the bands who played, the DJs and so many more.
As i said i won't do a report for this tour, but if you ask me about all the bands we saw during this tour, of course, i'll answer FRAMTID, D-CLONE, CONTRAST ATTITUDE, ACROSTIX, SYSTEMATIC DEATH...were awesome. I mean we all knew it would be great. But i was blown away by a lot of new bands that most of the touring bands don't give a shit about. So here are the highlights of the tour for me : NEMESIS, AKKA, UNARM, THINK AGAIN, AVFALL, MASSGRAVE, SKIZOPHRENIA, DESPERDICIO.
Seriously, most of those bands are killer and have or will have records/tapes out soon, you should check them.
That was one of the most positive aspect of the tour in my opinion. The fact that we didn't see only the classic bands that everybody expect. There were so many young bands and young punks at the shows and we all got along well.This new generation of punks here in Japan is so exciting ! They bring vegan food at shows, they organize benefit sales or shows, etc...it is so fresh and motivating !
The 4 days we spent with AVFALL were amazing. Chaotic, but amazing. I am glad we spent so much time together, and that 30 years old punks and 20 something punks can party together, make great shows everynight together is awesome ! They are one of the best band these days, and they are really into the swedish punk sound. You can definitly hear a lot of DISARM and MOB 47 influences which is super cool !
Seriously, Butch, Kokiji, Shigeji, Yokkun, thank you so much ! That was very destructive ! Hope we'll see again soon !

Of course, GASMASK TERROR were great too. It is kind of a challenge for foreign bands to tour Japan, as 99% of the bands a killer here. I saw many times people from the audience leaving the room, letting some US or European bands in a strange situation. GASMASK TERROR were not ridiculous, far from that. All shows i watched were good. Some of them better than the other of course. But live, they are full of passion, they are honest, humble and you could see they were enjoying being in japan, and i think people got that !
Well...so many things to say, but i'll stop here this time. Maybe later someone from the band will do a tour report or something. Maybe i'll take some time to put some other photos somewhere, or not. We'll see. For the moment i am just glad how things went. I am glad we could make so many new friends and i can't wait to see everyone again ! We just want to say thank you to GASMASK TERROR for coming in japan and not acting like assholes. Thank you to AVFALL for everything. And thank you to everyone invloved in this tour !
